Get active and stay healthy

The Langille Athletic Centre offers quality recreational and fitness opportunities for students and members of the community at all levels of ability. Whether it's a challenging academic schedule or a busy workload at the office, you’ll need activity to complement study time or just wind down. Join us for some basketball on the court, try out a new sport like badminton or squash or enjoy a refreshing workout between classes.


Intramurals at Dal AC offer sports leagues that are a fun, engaging way to make new friends and stay active throughout the academic year.  Leagues run each term with championships (and the opportunity to win fantastic prizes!) occuring at their conclusion.

Co-Ed Rec Ultimate Frisbee (Fall)

Taking place on the Dal AC field, Ultimate Frisbee will take place from 6:30pm-8:30pm on Sundays.  Teams will be made up of 4 people and will run from September 19th until October 17th with playoffs and championships occuring in the last week.

Co-Ed 3v3 Basketball (Fall)

Starting Sept 22nd and taking place on Wednesday nights from 8pm-10pm, the Co-Ed 3v3 basketball league will run in the Langille Athletic Centre gym.

Participants must fill out and submit the Intramural Waiver prior to participation.  Participants under the age of 19 will need a signature from a parent/guardian.

We also offer fitness classes and a variety of other student activities throughout the year. 

Please note that the following fitness classes have limited space so please email to sign up (available up to 72 hours in advance) if you would like to attend in person.

Yoga with Joy (Wednesdays)

Led by Joyful Yoga Studio instructors, Noon Yoga is open to all Langille Athletic Centre members and DAL AC students. 

We will safely warm up and get the breath and body moving fluidly through postures. Modifications and variety will be offered in every class to keep it accessible and satisfying as we move through the rest of our day.

Fusion Fitness with Lorraine (Fridays)

Working from the inside-out, this class focuses on connecting with our breath and strengthening body muscles that help support us during our everyday activities. 

These low impact and light resistance standing and mat-based exercises will bring focus on core stability, flexibility and balance for a challenging, total body workout.

This class is taught by Lorraine Crowe and is open to all DAL AC students and Langille Athletic Centre members. Modification are available for those who require them.

Kickboxing with Jen

This class teaches kicks, punches, blocks and other defensive techniques.  Shadow kickboxing and pad training round out the class which aims to provide cardiovascular and muscular fitness within a fun and safe enviroment. 

Moonlight Yoga with Rachel

A gentle class to unwind after a long day.  Sooth your nervous system.  Release any soreness and tension.  Get cozy in your body to set yourself up for a good night's rest.
