Get active and stay healthy

The Langille Athletic Centre offers quality recreational and fitness opportunities for students and members of the community at all levels of ability. Whether it's a challenging academic schedule or a busy workload at the office, you’ll need activity to complement your daily routine and help wind down. Join us for some basketball on the court, try out a new sport like badminton or pickleball or enjoy a refreshing workout!

Spin class spots are booked in advance.  You can secure your spot by calling 902-893-6660 up to 72 hrs in advance of a class.  Spots cannot be secured via voicemail; only by speaking to our staff.  Request made more than 72 hrs in advance cannot be accomodated.  

Notice:

Noon Yoga will hold a class on December 18th during the break.
Classes will resume in January.

Yoga with Joy

We will safely warm up and get the breath and body moving fluidly through postures. Modifications and variety will be offered in every class to keep it accessible and satisfying as we move through the rest of our day.

Line Dancing with Ashley

This class teaches choreographed dance routines with a repeating series of multiple sets of 8-counts that are performed in unison, to a variety of music genres from country, dance, and today’s hits.  No experience is necessary. 

Spin with Tammy

A high intensity group exercise class focused on endurance, strength, intervals and recovery.  Ride to the rhythm of powerful music that will get your heart racing and calories burning.  Race across the flats and climb hills and mountains while sweating and burning to reach your endorphine high!

Pilates Fusion with Lorraine

Working from the inside-out, this class focuses on connecting with our breath and strengthening body muscles that help support us during our everyday activities. 

These low impact and light resistance standing and mat-based exercises will bring focus on core stability, flexibility and balance for a challenging, total body workout.

This class is taught by Lorraine Crowe and is open to all DAL AC students and Langille Athletic Centre members. Modification are available for those who require them.

Strength and Conditioning with Tammy

A full body workout designed to improve the strength of your heart and body in this combination class.

Challenge your strength through free weight exercises , body weight , tubing and bands .

Cardio drills will get your heart  pumping and finishing with core training / stretching for a complete  full body workout.

Intramurals at Dal AC offer sporting events that are a fun, engaging way to make new friends and stay active throughout the academic year.

Intramural House Challenges

DASA hosts a number of House Challenges throughout the year.  These are opportunities where you, the student, are able to compete against other houses for house points and position your house for the annual House Cup Sport Marathon (typically in March).

Activities include basketballvolleyballindoor soccerdodgeball, and badminton.

Participants must fill out and submit the Intramural Waiver prior to participation.  Participants under the age of 19 will need a signature from a parent/guardian.
