Student Trainer Program

The Dalhousie Student Athletic Trainer Program provides Dalhousie students with a volunteer opportunity working with the varsity and club teams on campus. In the role of a student athletic trainer, one is responsible for acute sideline care of athletes within their scope of practice. Monthly education sessions are provided by the physiotherapists on staff at the Dalhousie Physiotherapy Clinic regarding side line assessment techniques, acute care, functional testing, taping and more.

This program also offers mentorship opportunities which require a smaller time commitment but continue to provide hands on learning experiences in the realm of sideline care.

Individuals who participate in the program who wish to use this experience to supplement requirements for higher level education applications, etc., can request a letter of reference from program coordinators.
