Stuff‑a‑bus

Posted by Dalplex on November 14, 2025 in Current News

The time has come for the annual Feed NS Stuff-A-Bus program! Athletics and Recreation is proud to be partnering with Feed Nova Scotia for their annual food drive that supports thousand of families throughout the holidays.

From November 14 until December 4, please help us support local communities by bringing non-perishable donations to Dalplex. There will be a table in the lobby to collect donations. The bus will be coming to pick up the donations on Friday, December 5.

Did you know that:

  • 29.3% of Nova Scotians were living in food-insecure households in 2024, which amounts to nearly 1 in 3 households, approximately 308,000 people.

  • Food insecurity in Nova Scotia is still rising. Grocery costs have gone up 19% since 2022, and food bank use increased by over 20% in 2024 and another 10% in 2025.

  • Across Canada, Black and Indigenous households are disproportionately affected, with 46.7% of Black households and 39.9% of Indigenous households experiencing food insecurity.

All donations are appreciated, but Feed Nova Scotia is especially in need of nutritious food that help make up a main meal.

This includes:

  • Soups and stews
  • Peanut butter
  • Cereal
  • Canned vegetables and fruits
  • Canned meat, fish, and beans
  • Rice
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Baby food and formula
  • Meal replacement drinks
  • Canned and powdered milk

New, unopened personal hygiene and household items are also accepted.

Help us block hunger on November 26!

Cheer on the Tigers at their November 26 basketball game and help Feed NS! Anyone who brings a donation to the game will get a dollar off their entry fee!

Thank you in advance for doing your part to support the community we live in!
