Registration is now open for our spring climbing programs!
Learn the basics and move to more advanced skills of rope climbing. This program allows participants to get tips on equipment, knots, top rope belaying and progressing to understand anchors and lead climbing. All equipment is provided. No prerequisites are required.
Setting routes is both an art and a science. Learn the basics and then move on to the more advanced skills of routesetting in this one-class course. Participants will be introduced to the basics of wall maintenance and care, movement concepts and how to create interesting and challenging routes. All equipment is provided.
Understanding the muscles of the body and how you learn to engage those muscles to stabilize the shoulders, wrists, and hips is an important part of climbing. Stabilizing the joints reduces the risk of injury and helps you engage the core and climb stronger.
Climbing Goals and Training Plans
Dedicated practice is required for continued improvement. Inspiration to train and continue to challenge oneself requires a skill-based approach to setting goals and objectives, leading you to improvement. This session introduces both goal setting strategies and the elements of a healthy approach to working toward new levels of performance and fun.
CWA Climbing Wall Instructor Certification
The Climbing Wall Association is an internationally recognized organization promoting professionalism and best industry practices. The Climbing Wall Instruction certification is an assessment of a candidate’s knowledge and experience with climbing and belay skills; risk management and supervision; personal protective equipment and instruction. Sucessful participants will earn a 3-year certification.
