Phase 2 begins March 7

Great news Dalplex members, students and community!

As you may have heard, Nova Scotia Public Health recently announced we’ll be moving into Phase 2 of the plan to ease COVID-19 restrictions on Monday, March 7, 2022.

Masks continue to be required except while engaged in physical activity.

DALPLEX

Fitness Hall

  • Appointments will no longer be required.
  • Considerably more cardio equipment will become available as will all of the weight training stations.
  • To adhere to gathering limits, we will be limiting the capacity at any given time to 150 users.
    - Access is on a first-come, first-serve basis
    - Weight room monitors will be keeping an on-going tally
    - If/when we reach 150, members will be asked to line up in the lower level hallway until someone leaves
    - No time limits will be enforced

Pool

  • Appointments will no longer be required.
  • The pool is set up for lane swimming only: short course with up to sixteen (16) twenty-five metre lanes available at a time.
  • Family swims continue to be suspended.

Fieldhouse

  • Appointments will no longer be required for the basketball courts or track.
  • Members wishing to book a badminton or table tennis court will continue to do so through our online system.

Fitness Classes

Fitness class appointments will continue as follows:

  • SPIN – 16 people per class
  • Yoga – 26 people per class
  • All other classes – 24 people per class

The Rock Court

  • Appointments will no longer be required.

SEXTON GYM

  • Appointments will no longer be required.
  • To adhere to gathering limits, we will be limiting the capacity at any given time to 12 users.
    - Access is on a first-come, first-serve basis
    - Weight room monitors will be keeping an on-going tally
    - If/when we reach 12, members will be asked to line up in the hallway until someone leaves
    - No time limits will be enforced

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Proof of vaccination will no longer be required to access Dalhousie University Athletic and Recreation facilities as of Monday, February 28, 2022.
  • Saunas are open.
  • Hair dryers and fans will be available in the locker rooms
  • Noon hoops will continue using the online booking system.
  • The sale and redemption of day and multi-visit passes will be available.
  • Towel and locker services continue to be available.

We encourage everyone to stay vigilant and do your part to help end the pandemic. Be sure to wear your mask except while exercising and remember to keep your distance to help everyone stay safe and healthy.
