Personal Training

Personal training has benefits for everyone, from beginners to elite athletes. Whether you are just getting started, you're looking to lose weight, you're trying to get over an injury, or you simply enjoy the motivation and expertise a personal trainer provides, we can help!

Clients range from teens to seniors, athletes to individuals with special needs. Our trainers can tailor programs to meet your individual needs and help you to meet your goals with greater success. We can teach new habits, correct old ones and provide motivation and positive reinforcement.

Personal training is about making an investment in yourself and in your health and wellness. Take control of your life and get the results you want!

How to get started

Consider the different programs available

Book a consultation session (what it is, why you need it, what to expect)

The first step is the consultation, where you will meet with a trainer so we can gather the information necessary to design a program specific to your fitness needs. (Please note that you will not be working out with the trainer during the consultation.)

Your physical health, exercise history, goals and eating habits are all important topics to discuss during this process. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions, or voice any concerns you may have. After the consultation, we design a program tailored specifically for you.

Following the consultation, we will teach you how to implement your personalized program in a one-on-one session in one of the weight rooms or a training area. This is when we show you how to warm up and cool down, teach proper form, discuss appropriate intensity, and much more. We also provide motivation, encouragement and constructive feedback.

Assess your current fitness level

Fitness testing is available for an additional fee. This option provides a full assessment of your current fitness level, including muscle strengthflexibility and aerobic fitness and can be discussed during your consultation.

You can book sessions with your trainer as often as you like. Whether it's every day, once or twice a week, or every 6-8 weeks to make adjustments, your program is customized to your needs. For those new to exercise, or those returning to the gym after an extended break, we recommend 4-6 initial sessions to help develop proper form and technique.

*Unfortunately we do not permit clients to purchase one-on-one sessions until they have scheduled a consultation with a trainer. 

Group training fees

For full-time Dal students and Dalplex members only

  • 3 sessions/week for 8 weeks: $240 per person
  • 2 sessions/week for 8 weeks: $160 per person
