Changes due to Covid‑19


Adjustments to Programming

  • Programs will be limited to eight participants (16 for basketball) and two instructors per group.
  • Numbers are set at this size to ensure physical distancing is not required.
  • As limitations on gathering size ease, we anticipate we will increase our participant and coach numbers (while maintaining a 8:1 participant to instructor ratio)
  • Sessions are two hours long for Basketball and Soccer.
  • Sessions are three hours for Active Youth, Youth Adventure and Youth Leadership.
  • Two to three sessions take place each day, with at lease 1 hour between sessions for proper cleaning & sanitizing
  • Basketball: programs will follow Basketball Nova Scotia’s Back to Basketball guidelines.
  • Soccer: programs will follow Soccer Nova Scotia return to play guidelines, once released. (We expect them to be similar to PEI Soccer’s Return to Play guidelines.)
  • Active Youth: programs are designed in keeping with the long-term athlete development model and will adhere to Nova Scotia’s COVID-19 Return to Day Camp Guidelines
  • Youth Adventure: programs will follow Nova Scotia’s COVID-19 Return to Day Camp Guidelines. Programming will include offsite walks/hikes to different destinations in the Halifax area.

Facility Information

Wickwire Field

  • Field consists of three cross-fields measuring 76,800 square feet per field.
  • Maximum of 8 participants and 2 staff per group. One group located on each of the cross-fields.
  • Washroom facilities available on the bottom level of Studley Gym (next to Wickwire Field).
  • Portable hand sanitizing stations will be available.

Studley Gym

  • Gym is approximately 4,500 square feet.
  • Maximum of 12 participants and 2 staff per group.
  • Washroom facilities available on the bottom level of Studley Gym.
  • Portable hand sanitizing stations will be available.

Studley Dance Studio

  • Studio is approximately 1,200 square feet.
  • Maximum of 8 participants and 2 staff per group.
  • Washroom facilities are on the same level of Studley Gym.
  • Portable hand sanitizing stations will be available.

Rigorous Cleaning & Disinfecting Schedules

  • Each facility will be thoroughly cleaned in between sessions.
  • An hour has been set aside in between sessions for thorough cleaning and sanitizing in preparation for the next group of participants

Changes to Drop off & Pick Up Procedures

  • One staff person will be designated to greet participants and parents/guardians.
  • Participants will designate one parent/guardian from the household to be responsible for drop off and pick up for the week.
  • Drop off and pick up will take outside of the facilities, parents are not permitted inside facilities.
