Booking/Cancelling Appointments

What are the rules around appointments?

  • If you wish to use any of Dalplex's athletic facilities, you must first book an appointment. 
  • Appointments are currently restricted to Dalplex and Sexton Gym members and qualifying full-time Dal students.
    Members must be 14+ to book an appointment in the fitness hall or attend a fitness class.
    Members must be 12+ to book an appointment to use the pool.

    If you are unsure of the status of your membership, please call 902-494-3372 to speak to a Client Experience Centre staff member.
  • Depending on the activity and/or location, the duration of the appointment and the number of participants permitted will vary.
  • Appointments can be booked up to 72 hours in advance, until one (1) hour prior to its start time (provided the time slot is still available).
  • Only one (1) activity time slot booking per person per day. 
  • Members who do not show up for their appointments may lose the ability to book future visits. Members can cancel by phone (902-494-3372) or online up to three (3) hours before their appointment time.
    - A warning will be issued for the first missed appointment
    - Members will be suspended for seven (7) days each time they do not show up for subsequent appointments 
    By not cancelling your unwanted appointment, you are preventing another member from booking the much-wanted space. Please be courteous and cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend.
  • Members must use their DalCard/membership card to access the facility. Entry will not be permitted without it. If you have lost or misplaced your card, please contact or the DalCard office to order a replacement card.
  • Members are restricted to using only the facility they have booked (i.e. you cannot book an appointment in the fitness hall but instead attend a fitness class)

How do I book an appointment?

TO BOOK BY PHONE: call 902-494-3372 and have your member # or BOO# ready.


  1. Visit and log in to your account. 
  2. Don't have an account? See below for information on how to create your account.
  3. Once signed in, choose 'Member Appointments' from the activity menu and then select the type of activity (i.e.: group fitness, Fitness Hall, etc). 
  4. Select the day of the week and/or the class you would like to book and click 'Register'. 
  5. Select the member who is attending the appointment. 
  6. Complete the questions and then click 'Add To Cart'. (If you answer 'no' to any of the questions, you cannot book an appointment and/or enter our facilities.) 
  7. Please click 'Checkout' in your shopping cart, then confirm 'Checkout' in the pop up box. 
  8. Your transaction is now complete. Your receipt will be sent to the email listed on your account.

How do I book with a partner (court sports)?

To ensure you and your partner book the same court, please follow the steps below:


  • Check to make sure the appropriate number of spaces are available - 2 for  squash and racquetball and 4 for badminton, basketball, table tennis and tennis.
  • The first member books an appointment, noting the court #, day and time.
  • Once confirmed, the rest of the playing party should proceed to book the remaining spot(s) on that court on the same date and at the same time.

How do I create an account?

Creating an account

Dalhousie Students 

Dal students do not need to create an account to book an appointment. Instead, click the log in button and use your NetID and password to log in (this would be the same log in information that you use for Brightspace or DalOnline) 

Dalhousie Faculty/Staff 

  • Please use your NET ID and password to access/set up your Dalplex account.
  • The primary email on our system is the one you provided to the registrar's office and must be used to connect to your profile and to set up the online account.
  • When entering your B00 number, please replace the 'B' with a '0'.

Dalplex Members

  • Members should be using the same email they provided at time of membership purchase.
  • When entering your member number to set up your profile, do not use a dash. Ie. M-278016 should be M278016.

How do I cancel an appointment?

  • Members who do not show up for their appointments may lose the ability to book future visits. 
  • Members can cancel their appointment up to 3 hours beforetheir appointment time.

  1. Visit and log in to your account. 
  2. Click on your user name (top right hand side of the screen) and then click 'Profile'. 
  3. On the left hand side of your 'View Account' screen, click on 'Programs', then 'Registrations'. 
  4. Then you can cancel your appointment(s).
