After additional maintenance on January 23 and 24, our staff began the process of filling the pool and monitoring the water levels. Unfortunately, the pool is continuing to lose water, which will result in an additional round of investigation.

We want to assure our members that we are doing everything we can to determine the source of the leak, conduct the repair, and reopen the pool. We appreciate your continued patience.

If you are a regular pool user and do not use our other facilities, please contact our Customer Service Centre about your membership options.

January 22, 2017

The second round of investigation and testing has been completed. Additional maintenance is scheduled on January 23 & 24.

Once the maintenance is completed, the pool will be gradually refilled, and monitored during that period. This is expected to take approximately one week. We will advise of a new reopening date as more information is available. We thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Reminder: If you are a regular pool user and do not use our other facilities, you can speak to our Customer Service Centre about freezing your membership for the duration of the investigation and repair.

January 5, 2017

Last week, our Dalplex and Facilities Management staff began the process of filling the pool following the identification and repair of a leak late last year. We have since identified another leak in the pool that requires further investigation and repair. As a result, the pool will not be reopening on January 10 as we initially planned. We do not know how long the pool will remain closed.  We thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We will advise of a new reopening date as more information is available.

Reminder: If you are a regular pool user and do not use our other facilities, you can speak to our Customer Service Centre about freezing your membership for the duration of the investigation and repair.

December 22, 2016

Dalhousie staff and external specialists have begun the repair to the Dalplex pool leak. The repair, and related tests to ensure the repair has been successful, will result in the pool being closed for additional time. We are aiming to have the pool re-open by January 10, 2017.

We will continue to provide updates as they are available, and thank all of our members for their patience and understanding with the situation.

December 13, 2016

We are aware of a leak in the Dalplex pool and are working with Dalhousie staff and external specialists to investigate the situation. The investigation has included a number of tests to monitor the water levels and determine the source of the leak.

The Dalplex pool will be drained on Tuesday, December 13, and will remain closed for at least one week, to allow for continued inspection and repair.

We are working as quickly as we can to limit the impact to our users. We will provide updates on the timing of the pool reopening as available. We apologize to our pool users for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
