Black and Gold Dance Team

The Dalhousie Black and Gold Dance team is a competitive dance team at Dalhousie University. Each September, auditions are held in the styles of Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Hip Hop where a team of experienced dancers are chosen to be part of our team.
The Black and Gold Dance Team attends competitions in the Maritime Provinces, hosts their own Showcase, and performs at events such as Tigers Basketball Games, Football Games, Soccer Games, Lacrosse Games, and Special Community Events.
We are a team of highly skilled dancers who hold weekly training, as well as choreography practices and welcome all Dalhousie students to come audition!
Team Commitment
Each dancer is responsible for attending the following:
- 1.5 to 3hrs training/week at the Dalplex
- 1.5hrs for each team they are on (i.e. a dancer on the Jazz and contemporary team will attend 3hrs of additional choreography practice for a maximum of 6 hours/week if a dancer is on all four teams)
Practices are generally held Tuesday or Wednesday evenings and Sunday evenings and there are also Small Group opportunities which would result in more practice times as well.
