Climbing Programs & Facilities

Dalplex has a bouldering wall in the fieldhouse where members are permitted to climb without supervision to a pre-designated height.

The second wall, called The Rock Court, is located downstairs near the squash courts. This area offers more varied terrain, with rope climbing and bouldering opportunities as well as climbing programs, clinics and camps.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Rock Court during open climbing time and are required to complete an annual accreditation session in order to keep yourself safe and learn how to practice safe climbing. Fees for accreditation sessions are available online and are valid from September to August.

All users must complete and sign a waiver to use the Rock Court as well. Users under the age of 19 must provde a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Please note: Youth under the age of 16 who wish to access the Rock Court must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a current climbing accreditation and must provide a completed waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Dalplex's Climbing Program Coordinator is also available during regular business hours to answer your questions at rock@dal.ca or by calling 902-494-1605.
