Dalhousie University's Department of Athletics and Recreational Services and presenting partner, Molson Coors Canada, are pleased to announce the 7th Annual Dal Tigers Dinner & Auction will be on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Marriott Halifax Harbourfront Hotel.

They dominated the World Cup circuit in the late 1970s and early ‘80s.The first North American male to win an Olympic medal in downhill skiing, Podborski claimed bronze in the 1980 Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid, NY. In 1982, he became the first and only non-European male to win a downhill World Cup title.
The Toronto, Ontario native had an impressive 11-year career as a member of Canada’s alpine ski team. He was first named to the team in 1973 and made his World Cup debut in 1974 at the age of 17. He raced 89 times collecting 44 top-ten finishes, 20 of them on the podium. Podborski held a number one world ranking for two years claiming eight individual World Cup victories. He competed in two Olympics, was twice named Canada’s athlete of the year and was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1982.
