Academic Support
Maintaining the balance between academics and athletics is a key component to success as a varsity student-athlete. The Academic Support Program provides Dalhousie student-athletes with resources to assist them in achieving their academic goals. This is a mandatory program for first year student-athletes and optional for all others. Components of the program include:
- study skill seminars
- study halls
- sponsored tutoring
- academic support
Other academic resources available to all Dalhousie students include Academic Advising Services, Studying for Success and the Writing Centre.
Goals of the Academic Success Program are to:
- Introduce study skills that will help student-athletes become effective learners
- Provide regular study halls to encourage student-athletes to study
- Provide tutors for student-athletes in need of assistance*
- Assist student-athletes with academic concerns and challenges
